School Readiness
The Office of Head Start states that Head Start is a school readiness program. Building upon this premise, ICS Head Start emphasizes and supports children's academic development, especially to significantly increase language development and to help preschoolers acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that predict later success in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies as they enter kindergarten.
